A not so little boy just reminded me his birthday is coming up, and he wants to celebrate!! Join us for Kye’s 7th trip around the sun celebration at our cabin in Emerald Bay!!
Here is the idea:
Saturday
3p – Treasure Hunt behind the cabin in Emerald Bay
5p – BBQ on the deck
7p – Magic Show (Magic Show performance by Dakota–she’s pretty good)
8p – Sleepover!! – Time for bed – though the cabin is small, we’ve slept 14 there. Bring a sleeping bag and a pillow.
Recommendations: Pack light, but bring warmth, it’s cooling off. Overnight low is forecasted to be 48.

Just in case, written directions: As you enter Emerald Bay from Tahoe City, look for a turnout/turn-a-round on the right located at the Hwy89 winter closure gate. You will see a small dumpster and small driveway/road at the far end of the turnout. Follow this small road up to the cabins. The cabin #’s are not in order. Our cabin is the 5th (ish) one up the road and is located right where the road kicks up in grade. Driveway fits 5 cars, once it’s full, we’ll ask that you park down at the highway turnout by the gate (Easy walk up).
Sunday
8a-9:30a – Pancake Breakfast at the cabin
10a-12p- Sugar Pine Point Beach — Park here: https://goo.gl/maps/c7gFCTXAyz… — We will be on the beach somewhere near here: https://goo.gl/maps/PD8Xt6aBqd… Follow the campground path from the highway to the beach. Note: This is the shortest walk to this section of the beach and you will avoid the State Park fee charged to park near the Ehrman Mansion.
Stuff to bring: A jacket for Saturday evening, sleeping bag/pillow for overnight, swim trunks and a towel for the beach on Sunday.
